Antitrust and foreign investment control spin-off: Experienced Freshfields lawyers launch ROCAN

As of 1 September 2021, the three former Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer lawyers Dr. Timo Angerbauer, Paul Drößler and Dr. Tobias Pukropski have launched Rocan, a boutique law firm for antitrust and foreign investment control law. The firm will be based in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Previously, the three founding partners had been part of  Freshfields‘ antitrust, competition and trade practice in Düsseldorf as Principal Associates. Tobias Pukropski (37) began his career there in July 2013 and temporarily also worked in the firm’s London office. Paul Drößler (36) had been a lawyer at Freshfields since March 2014. Timo Angerbauer (37) joined the Freshfields team in September 2014 and was temporarily based in the Washington, D.C., office.

The three partners have worked on numerous high-profile cases and have extensive expertise in all areas of antitrust and foreign investment control law. Rocan will focus exclusively on these two fields of law, where the firm will provide a full range of services. Rocan will offer high-end, efficient and partner-driven advice for national and international companies and trade associations as well as selected individuals.
